Getting Around

Alonnisos may be explored on foot or by bus, taxi or taxiboat from the harbour at Patitiri. Some visitors choose to explore the more remote beaches by hiring a scooter or car. If you think you may wish to do this - you must ensure that you bring your driving licence with you and that your holiday insurance provides adequate cover.

The clear turquoise water around Alonnisos was the first in Greece to be established as a marine park – so is protected to preserve the habitat of the Mediterranean Monk Seal and other rare species to be found in this region. This makes for wonderful swimming and snorkelling. Scuba diving is also available on the island, as are boat trips to other small islands.

Alonnisos is a green and beautiful island in the Aegean Sea. One of the Sporades group of islands (with Skiathos and Skopelos) – it has a tranquil atmosphere and provides endless opportunities for exploration amongst the olive and almond trees or relaxation on one of the secluded beaches.
Whether enjoying the scent of pine and wild herbs, relaxing with a massage or reflexology session, swimming under star filled skies or sampling the welcoming spirit of one of the local tavernas, Alonnisos offers a magical environment in which to explore your potential for awareness and freedom.
